Jono Manson’s latest record, The Slight Variations, will be released this Friday, October 14. Manson was a mainstay of the downtown New York music scene in the late 1980’s where he helped guide the careers of such artists as Blue Traveler, Spin Doctors and Joan Osborne. His new record draws on a number of his connections from over the years, including two songs he wrote with the Spin Docs’ Chris Barron.

“This album ties the many threads of my experience together,” he explains, “The material spans a wide range of genres and it plays like a capsule history of my musical and life experience – from my early days bar band rocker in NYC, to my life as a songwriter and father here in New Mexico. We recorded the album in a rambling old adobe house in the mountains north of Santa Fe. Some of the players are more recent associations, such as members of Colorado’s Brother’s Keeper, while others are guys I’ve been working with for many years, like Kevin Trainor on guitar, Jason Crosby on keys and Chris Barron from the Spin Doctors, who co-wrote two of the songs.”

Today we offer the premiere stream of The Slight Variations. Jono Manson will support the record through a series of dates listed below.
