About That Time Paul McCartney Punched Eddie Vedder in the Face

June 12, 2017

Eddie Vedder did a guest DJ slot as a part of the new SiriusXM channel dedicated to The Beatles and shared a particularly physical story about an encounter with Paul McCartney.

“He kind of was illustrating how he hit this guy and when he did that he shot out his left arm as if he was hitting this guy,” Vedder said as he walked up on McCartney telling a demonstrative story in a Seattle bar. “I was standing there, and I got hit. He hit me. He didn’t quite pull back the punch.”

Vedder admitted that he remembers “tasting a bit of blood” before McCartney apologized. “A great time in my life to be hit by Paul McCartney,” he joked. “I remember when it went away, when the pain finally subsided and the swelling went down, I kinda missed it.”
