Cody Dickinson‘s new solo album, Leeway for the Freeway will be released on July 8 (click here to pre-order). The North Mississippi Allstars co-founder and filmmaker tells Relix, “The record is produced by my mother Mary Lindsay Dickinson. I took six weeks off the road while she recovered from knee replacement surgery at my house. Once she bounced right back, better than ever, we started recording a song a day in my kitchen. Her wisdom in rock and roll is unparalleled.” 

Today we premiere the video for the title track, which Dickinson explains, “is a love letter to the road. The lyrics are literal. They are about growing up on tour and whats it means to move on. It is a classic story of love, loss and leaving things behind. I am thrilled to feature Duane Betts on the track. The guitar was recorded at our friend Cisco Adler’s studio in Malibu. ”
