Album Premiere: U.S. Elevator’s Self-Titled Debut

October 20, 2015

U.S. Elevator’s eponymous debut is set for release on November 3. The record maintains a contemporary sound and feel while offering nods to such groups as The Beatles, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Gram Parsons and The Hollies. The Santa Barbara-based band is the brainchild of Johnny Irion, musical partner and husband of Sarah Lee Guthrie. Following Sarah Lee and Johnny’s fifth album, 2013’s Wassaic Way (recorded at Wilco’s Loft studio in Chicago, produced by Jeff Tweedy and Patrick Sansone), Johnny assembled U.S. Elevator as the amped-up alter-ego to the couple’s eclectic folk music. The group also features bassist Nate Modisette, drummer Erich Riedl, guitarist Anders Bergstrom and pianist Brett Long.
Tim Bluhm produced the group’s new record, which we premiere today and is now available for pre-order.
