The Umphreys!

umphreak1927 August 13, 2011, 09:23:59

i was raised in the eighties, when mtv played videos and heuy lewis ruled the airwaves. Theres nothin that makes me smile more than then seeing heuy lewis have fun with umphreys. Its just like being a kid again. Being a big phish head since the early 90’s, i took a train to watch umphs at the jammy’s after party years ago, at bb kings, in times sqaure, knowing that all sorts of guests show up to play with the late night band. Never in a million years did i expect huey lewis to come out. Right then i knew my style of music had come full cirlce with my era of tunes as a kid. Still one of my favorite concerts in my life. Tops with the clifford ball and watching umphreys and moe. late night during jazzfest, many more years ago. right up there with phish, nye in the phish tank. We are so lucky to have such a genre of talented and authentic musicians to assist us along our path in life. thank for this great piece . cant wait for part two

what a well-done, fun show! Nice job Jeff —- I cant wait to see the next part. Huey is the best. The guy rules. Bummed I am going to miss him in Portland, OR later this month — will be out of town. Again, great work.

Gimme a break—-this guy is redic. Get ove yourself

eddie August 24, 2011, 18:10:44

I don’t even know what to think about this. First and foremost, its cool to see a backstage view of umphreys. Thats about all mr waful can bring to the table here. To think this guy majored in broadcasting or something like that…boggles my mind. What an insecure little dude, with the mentality “I am important, I am serious, holy is me. Pay attention to me.” “I chose a gig with a touring rockband but I really long to live a domestic lifestyle…Huey, your like me, life is tough huh?”. Quit! For the record, I would be happier never seeing this, and just appreciating umphreys lights. Now, when I see them perform, all I can prob think about is the d-bag behind the light board. Maybe bring some pies or someshit to throw at him, hear him cry about it on the next episode. Cancell the next episode/season. Who ever wrote the first comment, is right on the money, and said it all….“Gimme a break—-this guy is redic——get over yourself.” So much potential with this idea relix….just dont let this dbag drop the ball with it. I dont care how “heady” he is.
