I felt this way, too, and I felt so guilty in the last few mhtons of my second pregnancy, worried so much about how it would affect my then-2-year-old son. Bottom line is, after the next baby comes (and others after that, I imagine), that feeling disappears almost immediately. I can’t imagine my daughter NOT being part of the family and my son, who is now 4, ADORES his little sister. And, my daughter is more independent than my son, and it may be at least partially due to the fact that she did not get my continous undivided attention, as my son did. And I definitely think my son has benefitted from not always being the center of attention himself.
