Courtney Barnett Covers “New Speedway Boogie” on ‘Fallon’

Courtney Barnett is well on her way to television stardom as the Australian rocker made her Saturday Night Live debut and also returned to The Tonight Show to dazzle Jimmy Fallon with her cover of the Grateful Dead’s “New Speedway Boogie.”
Barnett performs the tune as a part of the new Day of the Dead compilation, curated by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National. “New Speedway Boogie” became an immediate favorite of most when it was released as a part of a preview prior to the album’s release, as Barnett transforms the tune with her patented Aussie slacker rock style.
