As producers, Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee, a.k.a. Break Science, have worked with the likes of The Fugees, Wu Tang Clan, Talib Kweli, Matisyahu and Ledisi. This experience is evident on their first full-length album, the infectious Seven Bridges. Standout opening track, “Brain Reaction” provides just that, blending Break Science’s electronic artistry with the lyrics of veteran rapper Redman and the funk of Deitch’s other band, Lettuce, for a soul-thumping groove. Hip-hop up-and-comers Citizen Chance and CX add fresh rhymes and raw-edged energy to multiple tracks. Balancing out those urban edges, jazzy songstresses Sonya Kitchell and Danielle Parente inject a sexy and ethereal female sensibility. Break Science seamlessly crosses genres to deliver an album emanating the diverse rhythms and hip-hop roots of their native New York City.
