Cloud Cult: Love

Earthology
Cloud Cult are back with more of their own beautiful brand of experimental, orchestral indie-pop on their ninth studio album Love. The socially-conscious and D.I.Y. collective released this 13-song record on their own Earthology label and amplify their rock band aesthetic with violin, trumpet, cello, trombone and French horn, along with two painters echoing their performances
live onstage. This release finds the Minnesotans exploring life, love, loss, growth and spirituality with sweeping strings, triumphant brass and vibrant keys as on previous albums, but this time, with hints at the electronic music genre (“It’s Your Decision,” “Sleepwalker”), folksy ballads (“Meet Me Where You’re Going”), and some more uplifting, hopeful, meditative tracks (“You’re the Only Thing in Your Way,” “Catharsis”). This record runs the emotional gamut in a powerful new way, as Craig Minowa’s reflective, soul-searching lyrics command your attention.
