Superhuman Happiness: Hands

Royal Potato Family
After serving as conductor, tenor saxophonist and composer in Brooklyn Afrobeat ensemble Antibalas for nearly 15 years, as well as being a session man with Iron and Wine, TV on the Radio, Phish and more, Stuart Bogie has finally released the long-awaited debut full-length with his own Superhuman Happiness project. Featuring an array of Brooklyn’s finest musicians, Hands is an experimental art-pop album that blends the lines between Talking Heads-style grooves, traditional Afrobeat and futuristic psychedelia. Dual guitar riffs weave through analog keyboard melodies and pulsating bass lines, which often venture into transcendent, orchestrated compositions and ambient narcotic mystery tours. While Superhuman Happiness’ live shows have already become something of legend throughout Brooklyn, Hands is likely to establish the band as one of the best rising acts to listeners far and wide.
