Various Artists : T Bone Burnett Presents The Speaking Clock Revue – Live from the Beacon Theatre

Shout! Factory

T Bone Burnett has worked with a mind-shattering list of musicians, often doing the heavy lifting for them in the studio. Throw Elvis Costello, Gregg Allman, Jim James (OK, Yim Yames), Ralph Stanley, Leon Russell and Elton John together onstage at New York’s Beacon Theatre, and you’ve got a concert most music fans would love to hear. You can’t go wrong bringing out Stanley or Costello; however, many of the best moments are the surprises. Newcomers Karen Elson and country duo The Secret Sisters prove that Burnett’s ear has yet to fail him. Costello and Burnett join Jeff Bridges for “Fallin’ & Flying,” the charming track from the film Crazy Heart. Yames delivers a ghostly “Wonderful (The Way I Feel)” from the latest MMJ album. Proceeds benefit The Participant Foundation to support music and arts education in public schools.
