Galactic: The Other Side of Midnight: Live in New Orleans

Anti-
The sheer electricity of Galactic’s live shows has earned the jazz/jam/funk collective its rightful place in the dizzying tapestry of New Orleans’ music scene. And the quintet’s most recent release, The Other Side of Midnight: Live in New Orleans, chronicles a sold-out show at The Big Easy’s legendary Tipitina’s nightclub. With guest performances by several artists, the evening finds the band ablaze with an unrelenting energy that brings to life its catalog of music, including much of the group’s recent studio album, Ya-Ka-May. The epic “Cineramascope” unfolds with the fevered ebb and flow of guest Trombone Shorty, while Cyril Neville sits in on “Gossip” and “Heart of Steel,” providing a vocal spark that ignites the evening’s most fiery and funky jams.
