Bootsy Collins: Tha Funk Capitol Of The World

Mascot
Bassist funk master Bootsy Collins returns with a cavalcade of friends to help him celebrate the enduring music he helped invent and innovate. Safe to say Collins has never met a whiplash rhythm he didn’t like and it is certainly on display on Funk Capital as the bassist swoops downtown with Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and Chuck D (“Hip Hop @ Funk U”), Jimi Hendrix (!) (“Mirrors Tell Lies”), actor Samuel L. Jackson (“After These Messages”), Buckethead (“Minds Under Construction”) and George Clinton (“Garry Shider Tribute”), to name but a funky few. Collins delivers a fine package of consistently invigorating tunes and samples that get your ass up and dancing. Does one expect anything less from the man?
