Roots Of Creation: RoC Live Volume 2
Harmonized
Nearly a decade after forming this New Hampshire-based trio, vocalist/guitarist Brett Wilson has done a great job of reconfiguring recognizable hits into his band’s blend of jam-oriented reggae. On its second live collection, Roots of Creation offers great takes of Tom Petty’s guitar-driven “You Don’t Know How It Feels” as well as a skanking rendition of the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place.” Keyboardist Tal Pearson and drummer Mike Chadhinia lay a dependable foundation that allows Wilson’s guitar to float above the nine-minute take of “Death March.” Likewise, the stickman’s crafty breaks during the forceful messages of “Policy” make it an inspired opening track. The nine-minute instrumental “Dubby Conqueror” and hard edge of “6AM” cement these musicians’ fine sound.
