The Bridge: National Bohemian

Woodberry

On its fifth studio release, The Bridge enlists the help of Grammy winning producer—and Los Lobos multi-instrumentalist— Steve Berlin to help solidify its position as one of the top emerging jambands on the scene. The album touches on two different, yet contrasting areas of American roots music guided by the distinguishing songwriting styles of Cris Jacobs and Kenny Liner. While Jacobs’ songs channel down-home influences from Greg Allman to Lowell George (“Sanctuary,” “Dirt on My Hands”), Liner’s songs echo the free-spirited Americana music of Charlie Daniels or Old and in the Way (“Chavez,” “Moonlight Mission”). But with the help of Berlin, The Bridge begins to move past these influences on National Bohemian, crafting a sound that is fresh and completely its own.
