Barefoot Truth

Mystic, Conn.
Connecticut Woodshedders

“We never wore shoes when we played and someone started calling us Barefoot,” says drummer and guitarist/vocalist Will Evans of the quintet Barefoot Truth’s early, beach gigs. Starting off as an acoustic duo, Evans and guitarist Jay Driscoll, solidified their sound woodshedding around Burlington, Vt., and eventually added fellow University of Vermont students Andy Wrba (bass) and Garret Duffy (harmonica). The most recent augmentation addition, keyboardist John Wayno, completes the current band’s line-up. Forced to change its name from Barefoot after several years—Geffen Records had signed a boy band with the same name—“Truth” seemed a logical fit as Evans focused his lyrics around his interests in environmentalism, sustainable development and global studies. Threads, the band’s third and most recent album aims for “universal consciousness” and “being aware of how your actions can be misinterpreted,” says Evans. “The idea is we’re all trying to achieve a common thread. The thread binds all of our existence together.”

Your fact checkers need to do a better job fact checking since NONE of the band members attended the University of Vermont. Still a cool shout out to an awesome band! Rock on!

Dear Relix,
Thank you for giving a shout out to my favorite band of all time. I must worn you though, that no one in BFT is from University of Vermont. The only connection they have to UVM is that they occasionally play the Higher Ground! Come on Relix! What’s up? Get with it. These guys are too good to be given false press! Yaaay BFT!

Great call by Relix. These guys are on the verge of something big – or should be. I’ve caught them live multiple times and they never disappoint. Well crafted songs, solid tunes, and they have the chops to pull it all off. More tours our West please!

I wanted to say sehtoming that have happened to me… I decided not to, because there are so many things in this, so it’ll probably sound really complicated and silly. Since I don’t know if mine is a romance scam, I feel its also a mixture of things. I hope people themselves are careful, and not keep trusting everyone out there, internet have become the place, where its easy to look for vulnerable people and hurt them. And even if you find a person who seems so genuine and unique, just please be careful, even after 3 years being together, still be careful. I learnt way too late, but luckily got out. There’s a chance that if it goes deeper, you may get hurt more in the end, possibly alot more than just hurt. I learnt alot, I have an internet addiction, but I learnt alot, and I’m glad.
