Watch and Listen: Andre 3000 Plays Jimi Hendrix, Trent Reznor and Josh Homme Talk Tour

The internet is producing all sorts of unique clips and soundbytes today. Here are a couple bits to sink your teeth into on this beautiful Wednesday in March. The first comes in the form of a clip from the forthcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic All is By My Side, due out March 12 when it makes its U.S. debut at the SXSW festival.

OutKast’s Andre Benjamin (3000) will play the iconic guitarist in the John Ridley-directed film, and now you can watch a brief clip from the movie courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. The clip portrays Hendrix and Linda, a well-connected groupie, having heart-to-heart before Jimi takes off to California. Check it out in the link provided. As noted in the article, Linda is also the inspiration for the Keith Richards-penned “Ruby Tuesday.”

In anticipation of their massive Australian tour, Trent Reznor and Josh Homme sat down for a 20-minute interview with Triple J Radio. The duo spent most of the time playing coy about what will happen when Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age kick off their co-headlining tour tomorrow tonight in Sydney, but it seems like collaborations are on the way. Reznor contributed to “Kolapsia” on Queens’ latest …Like Clockwork and the two, along with Dave Grohl and Lindsey Buckingham, infamously collaborated at this years Grammy Awards.

As far as individual performances are concerned, Reznor noted that NIN’s new four-piece arrangement will be “radically different” than the Tension Tour, with a more “off the cuff” and “unpredictable” feel. So this isn’t the most media-less post ever, check out some beautiful HD footage of the aforementioned Tension Tour below.
