The National to Host _Day of the Dead_ Album Release and Listening Party at Brooklyn Bowl

April 26, 2016

As previously reported, The National will release their 59-track Grateful Dead tribute compilation, Day of the Dead, on May 10. In celebration of its release, album curators Aaron and Bryce Dessner, along with their National bandmate and avid Deadhead Scott Devendorf, Relix and 4AD, will host an album release party at Brooklyn Bowl. All three musicians will DJ some first listens of all the album’s tracks throughout the night. Admission to this album release event will be free.

Day of the Dead features over 60 special guests coming together to interpret the music of the Grateful Dead, including Wilco, Mumford & Sons, The War On Drugs, Flaming Lips, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Béla Fleck, Charles Bradley, Courtney Barnett, Bruce Hornsby, Kurt Vile, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and many more, plus Bob Weir and The National themselves. The album will benefit the Red Hot Organization, marking the 20th album of original music produced by Red Hot to further its mission to fight AIDS/HIV.
