Phish to Return to the Road A Week After Fare Thee Well Shows

February 11, 2015

It appears as if Phish will be hitting the road following Trey Anastasio’s appearance at the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary celebration at Soldier Field over the July 4th holiday. As Jambase points out, the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone features a brief write-up on Anastasio and mentions that “the week after the Chicago shows Anastasio will be back on the road with Phish.”

While Anastasio has previously mentioned that 2015 will be a slower year for the band, it remains unclear whether “back on the road” refers to the start of a summer tour or the beginning of a potential second leg as Anastasio breaks to play with the surviving members of the Grateful Dead.

As previously reported, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart will reunite for three shows celebrating the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary. Jeff Chimenti and Bruce Hornsby will also join in with Anastasio serving as the other guitarist alongside Weir.
