Phish Offer Up New Archival Release

September 25, 2015

Phish’s latest archival release will come in the form of the band’s 11/22/1994 show from the Jesse Auditorium at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. The show is highlighted by a 30-minute “Funky Bitch” that includes a lengthy jam as well as a rendition of Israeli composer and folksinger Naomi Shemer’s “Yerushalayim Shel Zahav.”

Also included in the second set is the quartet’s bluegrass lineup, which began by the band ending “Big Black Furry Creature From Mars” in an acoustic fashion after beginning the tune electric. Among the acoustic selections were “I’m Blue, I’m Lonesome,” “Little Tiny Butter Biscuits” and “My Long Journey Home.” Other highlights from the show include two songs from The White Album, which the group debuted a month earlier in Glen Falls, NY. Among them, the second “Cry Baby Cry” ever (the tune was played just four times overall) and the only other Phish version of “Blackbird” after Halloween ’94.

The show is now available to order via LivePhish.
