Phish and Grateful Dead Took Center Stage at March Madness This Weekend

If you watched any college basketball this weekend, you spent Thursday to Sunday thoroughly entertained. Not only did Thursday feature FIVE games decided by one-point, but you were also treated to some great matchups throughout like Wichita State-Kansas, Notre Dame-Butler, West Virginia-Maryland and more.

But if you were paying just a bit more attention to what was going on in the background, you caught a glimpse of your fellow music fans in the crowd. Let’s begin Saturday night when the almighty FLUFFHEAD sign made its way from College Gameday to March Madness at the Georgetown-Utah game as Rachel Nichols tried to interview Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak.

And then last night during Louisville’s win against Northern Iowa, a tie-dyed fan held up this giant banner of Jerry Garcia’s mug clad in Cardinal red. Bill Walton would argue it should’ve been in UCLA colors, as his Bruins are still dancing into the Sweet 16.
