The 2017 nominees for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction have been announced, and those up for the honor next year include first-timers Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, Journey, Tupac Shakur and Joan Baez, along with returning nominees like Yes and Kraftwerk.

Artists and bands are eligible for Hall of Fame nomination 25 years after the release of their first single or album. This round, the cutoff year was 1991, the year that both Pearl Jam and Shakur released their initial efforts. Other artists included in the 2017 nominee class are Bad Brains, Chaka Khan, Chic, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra, J. Geils Band, Janet Jackson, Joe Tex, MC5, Steppenwolf, The Cars and The Zombies. See the full list below.

The nominees are voted on by over 800 international individuals in the music industry, including musicians and historians, and fans can also cast their vote, with the top five artists making up a fans ballot that will in turn be added to the initial vote count. Fan voting will take place from October 18 through December 5. More information is available here.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2017 inductees will be announced in December, and the official induction ceremony will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center in April 2017 for an event that will be broadcast on HBO.
