Listen: Phish Share _Big Boat_ in Full

September 29, 2016

After premiering two tracks from their new studio album, “Breath and Burning” and “Blaze On,” Phish have shared the album in full over at NPR. The record is set for official release next week on October 7.

The 13-track album features both songs that have been played live by the band and new tracks never before heard. The new tracks are “Home,” “Running out of Time,” I Always Wanted It This Way,” “More” and “Petrichor,” the final three of which close out the album. “Petrichor” has been previously played by frontman Trey Anastasio with orchestras and was referenced by Hamilton percussionist Andres Forero in an interview earlier this summer as a “15-minute piece with classical percussion.” The tune actually clocks in at just over thirteen-and-a-half minutes.

Big Boat tracks that were debuted during this past summer tour include “Friends,” “Breath and Burning,” “Tide Turns,” “Waking Up Dead,” “Things People Do” and “Miss You.” The final two tracks, “Blaze On” and “No Men In No Man’s Land” were debuted at the opener to summer tour 2015 and have become regular mainstays in the Phish’s setlists.
