Celebrating the release of his pictorial autobiography, Jimmy Page, the famed Led Zeppelin guitarist sat down last night with Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell for an intimate and detailed conversation at The Theater at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. In a 90-minute talk, the two discussed several dozen photo excerpts from the book selected by Cornell and projected onscreen above the pair to an audience of 1,600 fans packed into the beautiful downtown movie palace, all of which having received a complimentary copy stamped with the Zoso moniker, city, and date.Humble and soft-spoken, Page discussed his original intention for Led Zeppelin to be a tour de force for guitar, but never at the expense of the other three musicians, and revealed a deep appreciation for the great comaraderie the quartet shared.

Regarding future plans, there was talk of a possible album in 2015, and in a quick, red carpet interview, Page did leave open the possibility of touring. As host, Cornell was impeccable, channeling equal parts inner fan and fellow musician, as well to a standing ovation proclaiming Page the greatest guitar player ever. His thoughtful and entertaining remarks were less questions than observations, at one point viewing a photo of Page backstage at Madison Square Garden, offering, “You look like you are having a good time,” to which the Zep legend laughed and replied, “I always had a good time.”
