Jimmy Cliff to Join Widespread Panic at Lockn’

June 24, 2015

Much like Steve Winwood and John Fogerty have in year’s past, Jimmy Cliff will guest with Widespread Panic during their Saturday night set at Lockn’ Festival. This will come as the first of two sets Panic will play over the weekend, with their second coming on the final day before Robert Plant closes down the festival.

The history between Cliff and Panic runs deep, as the band has covered several of Cliff’s tunes including “The Harder They Come” and “Many Rivers to Cross,” among others. Cliff and members of Widespread Panic also shared the stage with various other musicians at the recent “Dear Jerry” show at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Lockn’ will kick off September 10 in Arrington, VA and will feature another collaboration, as The Doobie Brothers team up with The String Cheese Incident. Other scheduled performers include tributes to Jefferson Airplane and Mad Dogs & the Englishmen as well as sets from Phil Lesh & Friends, Robert Plant, Umphrey’s McGee, Tedeschi Trucks Band and many more. Tickets are available here.
