Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Steve Winwood To Join The Allman Brothers Band This Summer

April 22, 2013

The Allman Brothers Band have confirmed their heavily rumored summer tour. In addition to their upcoming co-headlining dates with Steve Winwood, The Allman Brothers Band will bring Grace Potter & the Nocturnals on the road as a support act for four shows (Winwood’s upcoming tour with Rod Stewart prevent him from playing certain markets). The Allman Brothers Band will also offer two “evening with” shows in Chicago on August 20 and 21.

“This will be a good little run,” Gregg Allman said in a statement. “We’ve always loved Steve and we’ve been listening to a lot of Grace’s stuff, so I imagine we’re going to have a bunch of fun together.” The Allman Brothers Band cover material from two Winwood projects, Spencer Davis Group’s “Don’t Want You No More” and Blind Faith “Can’t Find My Way Home.”

Potter first performed with The Allman Brothers Band last March but is old friends with Warren Haynes. She will also tour with Tedeschi Trucks Band earlier this summer.
