Universal Music Group’s Verve Records announced the signing of Australian duo The Falls today. The group plans to release their debut EP Into the Fire on February 18, with the title track available to stream and download below. Verve Records’ Chairman David Foster said in a statement, “Their perfect blend of harmonies and heartfelt songs represent the very best kind of contemporary folk-based music. I couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the Verve Music Family.”

Melinda Kirwin and Simon Rudston Brown (The Falls) have been making waves in their home country of Australia, notching tours with the likes of The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men and many more. Now, the one time couple will hit the road with Delta Rae following their performance at Sundance Film Festival for a string of dates that will cover the East Coast and will also include a date at the SXSW festival. Verve Records, who boasts a lineup that includes Andrea Bocelli and Smokey Robinson, among others, is excited to have The Falls joining the family.
