Radiohead Will Return to the Studio in September
Radiohead will be heading back to the studio to work on their ninth album later this year. The news came a few days ago, when South Africa’s Mail and Guardian reported that the band was in the middle of a hiatus that will end when they begin work on the record in September. Bassist Colin Greenwood confirmed the notion in an interview with BBC 6 Music, saying, “We’re taking some tome out whilst people are doing some other stuff, doing their own things, and the plan is to get back together again [at the] end of the summer.”
Radiohead released their eighth studio album The King Of Limbs in 2011, and the band embarked on a an extensive arena tour in 2012. The tour saw the modern rock legends headlining Coachella and Bonnaroo, as well as temporarily adding a sixth member in drummer Clive Deamer (previously of Portishead). The extra percussionist was necessary in order to reproduce The King of Limbs complex poly-rhythms live.
As previously reported, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke’s side project Atoms for Peace will be releasing their debut album Amok on February 25.
