Trey Parker and Matt Stone To Produce Fishing Show with Les Claypool and Dean Ween

Ween guitarist Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo and Primus bassist Les Claypool are pitching a new fishermen reality show, according to the The Star-Ledger. The oddball musicians, both of whom are fishermen, are preparing to shoot a pilot for the project.
“The show is personality-driven,” Melchiondo told the paper. “The idea is to get the show on after Anthony Bourdain or ‘Tosh.O.’ It’s a fishing show that you do not have to be into fishing to enjoy.”
South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will produce the project. The article says different celebrity guests will appear on the show. Primus provided South Park with its theme song and the show’s creators helped Claypool with his jamband spoof Electric Apricot.
“Part of the plan is to do music on the show and also create the soundtrack,” Melchiondo added.
The Ween guitarist leads fishing trips in the New Jersey area. Claypool is also an avid fisherman and has written many fish-related songs. Ween officially parted ways last year and Melchiondo is currently working on a range of solo projects.
