Tickets Going Fast for Newport Folk Festival

The 2013 Newport Folk Festival quietly began selling tickets on January 8. Early bird and three-day passes both sold out very quickly and there are now only two-day and individual day tickets available. The festival has not yet announced its lineup and very little has been announced about this year’s event, which will take place July 26-28 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI. As previously reported, the festival has expanded to three days for 2013.
Recent Newport Folk Festival lineups have included My Morning Jacket, Jackson Browne, Gary Clark Jr., Emmylou Harris, Earl Scruggs, Elvis Costello and many more. The festival—which is now in its 54th year—has a long history and has been the site of a few legendary performances, including Bob Dylan’s famed electric show, which polarized his fans and marked a transition to more rock-oriented music. You can check out plenty of great photos from the 2012 Newport Folk Festival here. Two-day and individual day tickets to this year’s Newport Folk Festival can be purchased here.
