Vote for Your Favorite Phish Show at MSG

Tomorrow night Phish will open their four show New Year’s Eve run at Madison Square Garden. Other than two nights in October 1996, and a gig on 1/1/11 the band’s MSG gigs have otherwise taken place in December. Do you have a favorite? Plenty of folks make their case for 12/31/95 while others push for other nights. Cast your vote here (and add some comments if you wish). The results will appear in a future issue of the magazine.

I was at 12/28, 12/29 and 12/31 and I rank them in reverse order. New Years was just mind numbing and the band pushed hard and was on fire. Saturday show was more straightforward with only two songs in the entire set going over the 12 minute mark and it was a great great show and Friday was very jammy with many 15+ minute songs but this doesn’t mean any show was bad, I am just pointing out my ranking reasons. Overall, this was a monster New Years run, the crowd was so frantic and into the shows and the new MSG rocks
