Maya Rudolph To Perform Prince Songs With The Roots Tonight and Now on Friday
“Darling Nikki” at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA on 8/28/11
Last night Maya Rudolph performed with the Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. She was joined by her friend Gretchen Lieberum for a version of “Darling Nikki” and explained to Fallon that back in college they had appeared in a Prince cover band called Supersauce. This evening she is slated to deliver a set of Prince music at Brooklyn Bowl and due to overwhelming demand, she will now do the same on Friday night in Port Chester at the Capitol Theatre, with tickets now on sale. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will open and it is certaily possible that KD will join Rudolph and The Roots as well.
