Relix.com Premieres Scrapomatic Song from Forthcoming Album

The new Scrapomatic album I’m A Stranger and I Love The Night is set for an August 21 release on Landslide Records. Today Relix is premiering “Night Trains, Distant Whistles” from the record. Mike Mattison (Tedeschi Trucks Band) who co-founded the group with Paul Olsen, has this to say about the song: “‘Night Trains, Distant Whistles?’ is a true musical collaboration, aided by sweet hunks of Taj Mahal and Bobby Bland’s His California Album. Paul hit on the lyrical concept while staying at [guitarist] Dave Yoke’s house on the edge of industrial Atlanta, where you can still hear the distant whistle of night trains, the neighbors have raccoon traps and you must carry a bat when walking your dog (to protect it from other dogs.) Essentially, this song is about running away from your problems. Which we recommend.”
