The Capitol Theatre Reveals Opening Schedule: Bob Weir, The Roots, Warren Haynes, My Morning Jacket and More

The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY has confirmed a list of 40 shows set to reopen the iconic venue this fall. Among the acts scheduled to perform at the Cap are Bob Weir (solo) and The Roots, Buddy Guy and Johnny Lang, My Morning Jacket, Al Green, Warren Haynes, Steve Miller Band, moe., Umphrey’s McGee, Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Galactic, The Moody Blues and many more. The venue is slated to official open on September 4, however, that evening’s performer is still to be announced. See below for the full performance schedule.

“It all starts with the lineup,” says Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl, Wetlands, U23D, Relix), one of the forces behind the venue’s reopening. “Combining this eclectic group of incredible musicians, this historic and influential theatre, and the most state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and visual projection technologies in the world should create a pretty amazing experience.”

In its distinguished history, the 1,835-capacity theatre has hosted concerts by the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Derek and the Dominos, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, David Bowie, Santana, Black Sabbath, Iggy Pop, and many more. Beneath a 65-foot domed ceiling, the concert hall features a general admission floor, a seated balcony including VIP seats, and six presidential box suites.

The theatre is currently undergoing a transformative renovation from the ground up, which will feature a d&b audiotechnik V-Series line array sound system (the first install of its kind in the country); a full house projection system featuring ten HD cinema-quality projectors; content created by Mark Brickman (Pink Floyd, Roger Waters’ ‘The Wall’ Tour) and the NYC-based team of Batwin and Robin; and an arena sized lighting rig designed and installed by Chris Ragan and BML/Blackbird.

For more information and on-sale dates, visit the Capitol Theatre website.

Ooh yay, looking forward to Roger Hodgson of Supertramp!! :) I’ve seen him a couple times over the past year, both as a solo act and with a full band, he never ceases to surprise me with his passion & energy for the music! He has so many timeless hits that I grew up listening to over the years- Give a Little Bit, Dreamer, Logical Song, Take the Long Way Home, Breakfast in America, Fool’s Overture…When Roger first steps on the stage he hooks your heart and reels you in for a wild musical journey, taking you back through time and allowing you to reminisce, dream, and immerse yourself in soul-nurturing music.
He’s adding tour dates for 2013 through his official facebook page, also a fun way to connect with other fans of Roger! Check out
