New Jerry Garcia Archival Series Announced

Shortly after unveiling Jerry Garcia’s new website, the musician’s estate has now announced the first volume in a new archival series titled Garcia Live. The first volume in the series features a recording from the historic Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ on March 1, 1980, which includes both an early and a late show. Both shows were originally multi-tracked on a 24-track mobile rig for WNEW’s broadcast of the early show.

Mixed by John Cutler and mastered by Joe Gastwirt, the recording features the lineup of Garcia on guitar and vocals, John Kahn on bass, Ozzie Ahlers on Keys and Johnny de Foncesca on drums. Highlights including a take on the Jimmie Rodgers tune “That’s All Right,” an early show encore of “Deal” and a version of “That’s What Love Will Make You Do.”

Garcia Live Volume 1 comes out on or around November 9. Head to the all-new JerryGarcia.com to pre-order your copy now.
