Page McConnell Confirms October 31 Show (No Phish on Halloween)

Phish keyboardist Page McConnell will perform as a guest keyboardist with The Metermen on Halloween. The performance will take place at New York’s BB King Blues Club on October 31, followed by a show on November 1. The Metermen features three quarters of the original Meters lineup: drummer Zigaboo Modeliste, guitarist Leo Nocentelli and bassist George Porter, Jr. Tickets go on sale on July 20.

The show’s announcement also doubles as confirmation that Phish will not perform a special Halloween show this year. The Vermont Quartet is expected to work on a new studio album this fall and end the year with a series of shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

McConnell recorded with Mike Gordon and members of The Meters as The Gyptians for the late ’90s New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic benefit album Get You a Healin’. He also toured with Porter’s PBS project in 2008.

8/14/93 Tinley Park.. antelope->sparks->walk away->antelope->have mercy->antelope makes the case for Antelope to be the grasteet of all time But you def gotta throw in Tweezer.. DWD is a strong contender too wolfman got pretty insane in the late 90 s too I personally put It’s Ice, Tela and a good forbinbird into my top 10 and Im surprised no one mentioned Mike’s Groove.. i know its 3 songs and all but the surprise element of whats going to be the 2nd song is definitely Phish Hydrogen vs. Simple debate will always rage on personally I think it depends on the mood.. im a relatively newer phan so i always got Simple at my shows so i was pretty happy to finally see a hydrogen at coventry well i digress oh wait .. i can’t believe no one mentioned esther either could be my favorite of all time
