Jam_ON to Broadcast Phish at SPAC

Sirius XM Jam_ON will broadcast Phish’s July 7 performance at Saratoga Springs, NY’s Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Jam_ON host Jonathan Schwartz announced the broadcast on air this afternoon. Coverage will start at 6 pm ET with a special pre-show From The Archives, hosted by Phish archivist Kevin Shapiro. Kevin will dig into the Phish vaults to play exclusive, unreleased and never-heard-before material from the band’s career, leading up to a complete concert performance broadcast live on Jam_ON.

The concert broadcast will air at 8 pm ET and re-air on Sunday, July 8 at 12 pm ET as well as Monday, July 10 at 4 pm ET. Sirius XM Jam_ON has broadcasted a number of concerts recently, including last summer’s Super Ball festival in Upstate New York.

This is an extremely inireesttng observation. It has made me think (always a useful blog outcome) .Most people work in non-gig situations, where there is no overt / staged performance’ and it is less clear who is watching’. None the less it is a show. Most of the time not much Driving goes on. People oscialte between Cycling and Absorbing. To follow the metaphor being driven or at least given a route map by others. And of course, some people spend there time absorbing the hell out of the situation. This is perhaps why when someone who comes along who does some driving (leads the show) they get the reaction they do. Others look on, surprised. Why can’t I get that appreciation (energy) success? Trouble is they are just not brave enough to move into the spotlight. Fear of failure, not getting your sums right, laughed at A sort of corporate stage-fright.
