North Mississippi Allstars Name New Bass Player for Upcoming Dates

Bassist Chris Chew will not perform with the North Mississippi Allstars on their upcoming tour. Pierre Wells will perform in his place. Chew has a second career as a bus and truck driver for musicians and others. NMA members Luther and Cody Dickinson have performed a number of shows as a duo while Chew focused on his other career. In a video announcement posted below, Chew confirms that he is not leaving the band and that he is still close with the Dickinson brothers.

A formal statement from the band reads:

Chris Chew will not be appearing with North Missisippi Allstars on the upcoming performances April 13 – May 4. Chew has decided to pursue other professional endeavors at this time and we respect his decision.

In Chris’ place will be a hero of ours, Pierre Wells. We are very excited about having Pierre on board and look forward to sharing his amazing talent with all of you. As always, we thank you for your inspiring support and understanding.

God Bless

North Mississippi Allstars will perform in Hattiesburg, MS this evening.

Maybe they should then change the name to North Mississippi Wells…..and only use the “Allstars” in the name when Chris plays for them…..
