Live Nation Purchases Setlist.fm

In an interesting development, Live Nation has acquired Setlist.fm, a wiki-like service that allows individuals to add and edit concert setlists to its database. According to a press release, Live Nation says the site “will create a richer, more interactive fan experience within the Live Nation community.” Setlist.fm currently has a database containing 403,000 setlists from 24,000 artists at more than 71,000 venues around the world. Prior to the acquisition, Setlist.fm was already used to power the Live Nation and Ticketmaster iPhone apps.
