William Shatner Enlists Warren Haynes, Ritchie Blackmore, Sheryl Crow, Peter Frampton and Toots Hibbert
The inimitable William Shatner will return to the musical realm next month with the release of a new studio recording. Seeking Major Tom features the Canadian actor performing a variety of covers, with space themes (as befits a Star Trek captain), including the title track, “Space Oddity” and “Walking On The Moon.” He is joined on the journey by a variety of notable musicians, including Steve Miller, Sheryl Crow, Ritchie Blackmore, Peter Frampton, Steve Howe,Toots Hibbert and Warren Haynes, who guests on a cover of the Golden Earring song, “Twilight Zone.” A clip of Shatner’s vocal session for “Iron Man,” has just been released and appears above.
