Dean Ween Plays Ball

He fishes too…
Ween guitarist and co-founder Dean Ween will host a charity baseball game on Sunday, October 2. “Dean Ween’s October Classic” will take place at the New Hope High School (182 West Bridge Street) in Ween’s native New Hope, PA, with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society. Gates open at 12:30PM and game time is 1:30PM. Admission is $5.
Ween singer Gene Ween will perform the National Anthem before the game, while Ween’s Glenn McClelland (a former member of Blood, Sweat & Tears) will provide organ music throughout the afternoon. Celebrity players will include Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). The rest of the teams will be drawn from an open-invitation solicitation from Dean via his personal Facebook page. All the players have contributed $25 to cover the cost of team jerseys and to benefit the charity.
Gene Ween and Ween’s Dave Dreiwitz will perform at Woodstock, NY’s Colony Cafe tonight and tomorrow. The shows are part of the 12th annual Fiercely Independent Woodstock Film Festival. For more on Dean Ween and his other life in the fishing world, please read out recent interview on Jambands.com.
