Umphrey’s McGee Signs to ATO

As previously reported, Umphrey’s McGee will release its first studio album since 2009, Death by Stereo, on September 13. The band has now confirmed that the album with come out through ATO records, a label co-owned by Dave Matthews that is home to such artists as My Morning Jacket, John Butler Trio, Dawes and Drive-By Truckers. The album’s release will coincide with a lengthy fall tour that includes multi-night runs in Washington, DC (9/2-3) and Brooklyn, NY (9/6-9).
Last night, Umphrey’s McGee headlined Utica, NY’s Saranac Brewery. Yonder Mountain String Band opened the show and both bands played single sets. For their encore, Umphrey’s McGee invited out all four members of Yonder Mountain to play on their own “Nashville Easter.” The members of both bands then performed Umphrey’s McGee’s “Partyin’ Peeps.”
Umphrey’s McGee will perform in Wallingford, CT tonight.
