Master Musicians of Jajouka, John Scofield, DJ Logic Among Guests To Join MMW at Whitney Museum Residency

Medeski Martin & Wood has confirmed its heavily rumored summer residency at New York’s Whitney Museum. The members of MMW will perform at the Whitney each Friday this August in a range of configurations. Since the shows will celebrate the trio’s 20th anniversary, it makes sense that alongside MMW collaborations John Scofield, DJ Logic and Cyro Baptista will all take part in the residency. All fives shows will be free of charge.
Here’s a look at the August residency by date
August 5
7PM: Bachir and Mustapha (Master Musicians of Jajouka) with members of MMW
7:30-8.30PM: Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood
August 12
7PM: DJ Val-Inc duets with Martin and Wicked Knee brass
7:30 – 8:30PM: Billy Martin’s Wicked Knee
August 19
7PM: Mister Rourke duets with Wood and Burnham
7:30 – 8:30 PM: Chris Wood with Billy Martin and Charlie Burnham (Improv)
August 26
7PM: DJ Logic duets with various musicians
7:30 – 8:30 PM: Medeski Martin & Wood with Cyro Baptista
