DMB Adds Caravan Dates

Dave Matthews Band has confirmed its final two Caravan shows. The group will perform on New York City’s Governors Island from August 26-28, as well as George, WA’s The Gorge Amphitheatre from September 2-4.

In addition to Dave Matthews Band, the lineup for the Governors Island event will include: Dispatch, The Roots, Gogol Bordello, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, The Head and the Heart, Vieux Farka Touré, David Wax Museum and many more others The Gorge dates will mark Dave Matthews Band’s only West Coast performances of 2011 (DMB has played the venue each year since 1997). The lineup for that festival will include: Dispatch, The Roots, John Butler Trio, Gogol Bordello, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band, Blind Pilot, The Belle Brigade, The Moondoggies, Lindsay Fuller and many additional acts.

As previously reported, DMB is scheduled to play Atlantic City, NJ’s Bader Field from June 24-26 and Chicago’s Lakeside from July 8-9 as part of its Dave Matthews Band Caravan. These 12 shows will celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary. DMB has been trying to play Governors Island since 2005. After failing to secure permits for the venue, the band hosted festivals on Randall’s Island in 2005 and 2006.

When I first heard it, I literally gapsed. It was unheard of country music performed by a chinese artist in chinese, It sounded quite weird because Jay does this weird thing with his voice during the cowboy-e parts. But! This song shows Jay’s creativity. I love how he keeps reinventing himself. The chorus is very very catchy. I definitely will not be putting this on repeat, but it’s a cute song. As long as the rest of the album includes some of Jay signature songs I will be happy.
