Eddie Vedder Shares Ukulele Songs

The first single from Ukulele Songs

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will release an album consisting entirely of music performed by Vedder on ukulele. The aptly-named Ukulele Songs will offer a mix of originals of covers with Cat Power guesting on “Tonight You Belong to Me” and Glen Hansard joining in for “Sleepless Nights.” An initial single, “Longing to Belong,” will become available tomorrow, while the album will hit on May 31.

That same day will see the release of the Water on the Road DVD. Water on the Road presents music from Vedder’s August 16 and 17, 2008 performances at Washington, D.C.‘s Warner Theatre. The DVD includes a live take on “You’re True,” which also appears on Ukulele Songs.
