The Decemberists to Release Grateful Dead Cover

Relix and Jambands.com have already reported on The Decemberists’ connection to the jamband scene via founding members Jenny Conlee and Nate Query. Both musicians played in the ‘90s jamband Calobo and continue to explore more improvisational-based music through their various side projects. Now, The Decemberists has formally embraced its love of the Grateful Dead with its new 7”. The b-side to the group’s forthcoming single for “January Hymn” is a studio cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Row Jimmy.” The songs will be available tomorrow, December 14.
