Yo La Tengo Welcomes Wilco Guest for Chanukah
A look back at Tweedy with YLT
On Friday night Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy opened for Yo La Tengo during the third night of its Chanukah run. He then joined YLT for the first portion of its show, sitting in on versions of such songs as Phil Ochs’ “Chords of Fame,” Bob Dylan’s “One Of Us Must Know (Sooner or Later),” and Wilco original “Jesus Etc.” Last evening, on night six of Chanukah, it was Wilco keyboard player Mikael Jorgenson appearing with the group. Jorgenson sat in for much of the set, including versions of Dylan’s “I Wanna Be Your Lover,” The Left Banke’s “She May Call You Up Tonight” and Blue Oyster Cult’s “This Ain’t the Summer of Love.” Tara Key and Amy Rigby also appeared with Yo Lo Tengo, which returns to Maxwell’s this evening.
