Furthur to Work with Grateful Dead Artist

The Dead at the Greek
Furthur has announced that Courtenay Pollock, one of the Grateful Dead’s original tie-dye artists, will supply the band with his signature back-drops for the group’s November tour. Pollock began working with the Dead in 1970, when he was commissioned to create tie-dye speaker fronts for their stage setup. Pollock’s famous works include the backdrop he made for the Dead’s performance at the Greek Theater in 1983.
Known for the intense psychedelic patterns, vibrant colors and multi-dimensional designs, some of Courtenay’s original Grateful Dead pieces are considered to be legendary among Deadheads, and have sold for thousands in recent auctions. Pollock’s company, Fabric Fractal Art, has also recently teamed up with famous jamband speaker builders, Hard Truckers, which suggests that Furthur will once again be using his speaker covers onstage.
Check out some of Pollock’s work over at his website.
