Rare Black Crowes on Halloween

The Black Crowes opened a five-show run at New York’s Best Buy Theater last night as part of its “Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys” tour. While the members of the Crowes classically opened for themselves in the guise of a classic artist on Halloween, last night the band celebrated by draping the venue with witches and ghosts. In addition, the band opened its electric set with a version of “Evil Eye” that morphed into a rarely played cover of Syd Barrett’s “Lucifer Sam.” The band also played rarer material like “Tied Up & Swallowed” and “Been A Long Time.” The Crowes will return to the Best Buy tomorrow. Additional reporting by Nick deJanosi.

All I know is they double sreechad at Slash the other night for cameras but phones weren’t a problem. My BlackBerry chose the freeze after my 2nd photo ~ 1st time ever and I didn’t know all I had to do was take the battery out. Bummer.
