Relix Exclusive: New Guster Video

A scene from one of Al Jarnow’s more famous shorts

Relix.com is proud to debut the official music video for Guster’s new song “Hercules.” The track appears on the band’s sixth studio album Easy Wonderful, which will be released on October 5. Guster plans to release a film for each song off Easy Wonderful and will even field fan submissions for the “Bad Bad World” music video.

The video for “Hercules” was directed by the team of Al and Jesse Jarnow. Filmmaker Al Jarnow—an expert in the fields of time-lapse, stop motion, and cel animation—has produced over 100 shorts over the years, including a series of seminal educational bits for Sesame Street. His work is the subject of The Numero Group’s first film release, Celestial Navigations.

His son Jesse has written for Jambands.com and Relix Magazine for over 10 years and currently serves as one of the magazine’s contributing editors. He has also contributed to Rolling Stone, The Village Voice and many other publications. According to the band, drummer Brian Rosenworcel’s wife saw the Jarnows speak at a recent Celestial Navigations screening, and the group approached them about co-directing the unique music video. Jesse Jarnow’s connection to Guster goes far deeper: he saw the band open for moe. at Wetlands in 1995.
